Imagine your arbors dripping with roses in spring — and then seamlessly cloaked in waves of clematis that carry the show for months beyond….
That dream garden is entirely within reach — and Linda Beutler, author, longtime curator of the Rogerson Clematis Collection, and past President of the International Clematis Society, will show you exactly how to achieve it.
Join us on March 15, 2026, at 2 PM via Zoom for this exclusive program.
Prepare to be inspired as Linda opens the door to the extraordinary world of clematis, and reveals why these elegant climbers are the ultimate partners for roses. Discover how to create breathtaking combinations that transform arbors, walls, fences — and any structure you can dream of — into unforgettable garden displays.

But this program goes far beyond beautiful bloom pairings…
Have you ever admired the spectacular once-blooming rambler roses cascading over structures in famous rose gardens around the world — yet hesitated to plant them because you didn’t want your arbor to be bare for the rest of the season?
Clematis are the answer.
Learn how to pair clematis with once-blooming ramblers so that when the roses finish their glorious show, the clematis step in — ensuring continuous color, texture, and interest. With the right combinations, your vertical spaces can remain vibrant for months.
You’ll also discover:
- Which clematis varieties will play nicely with your roses — and which ones might overwhelm them
- How closely to plant clematis to your roses
- How to successfully propagate clematis
- Which clematis varieties thrive in containers
- How and when to prune the different clematis groups (demystified at last!)
- Why clematis deserve a place not only in your garden — but in your vase.
Yes — certain clematis varieties make exceptional cut flowers! Linda will share her favorite selections for arrangements, how to pair them beautifully with roses, and how to keep them performing at their peak.

Whether you’re a seasoned rosarian or just beginning to explore vertical gardening, this program is packed with practical expertise, creative inspiration, and “why didn’t I know this sooner?” revelations.
If you love roses, this program will change the way you garden. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from one of the world’s foremost clematis experts.

Linda Beutler is a nationally recognized clematis expert, author, and horticulturist who has dedicated her career to the genus. An Oregon native, she began her professional garden writing career in 1996, publishing articles in magazines before releasing her first book, Gardening with Clematis (2004, Timber Press). She followed with Garden to Vase (2007, Timber Press), a collaboration with renowned garden photographer Allan Mandell, and later authored The Plant Lover’s Guide to Clematis (2016), widely regarded as THE definitive clematis guide. Interestingly, she is also a published author of Jane Austen fan fiction.
Since 2007, Linda has served as curator of the Rogerson Clematis Collection at Luscher Farm in Lake Oswego, Oregon — the only accredited clematis collection in North America — guiding it to full accreditation in the Plant Collections Network in 2018. She also served as President of the International Clematis Society from 2013–2018, focusing on international outreach and educating gardeners about the versatility of clematis. In recognition of her exceptional contributions, she was awarded the Society’s prestigious Golden Clematis Award in 2018.
Linda shares her passion for plants as a part-time horticulture instructor at Clackamas Community College, where she has taught perennials and clematis since 1996. She lectures and writes widely, traveling across the United States and around the world to connect with gardeners through the International Clematis Society.
Whether in the garden, the classroom, or on the page, Linda lives the gardening life — and inspires others to do the same.
