Dear Rose Friends:
Here is a Zoom program that we think you may enjoy. Gertrude Jekyll was known for her love of roses. Her garden at Munstead Wood featured a variety of them, including the rose named after her garden, David Austin’s Munstead Wood, pictured above.
This program is sponsored by The Garden Conservancy. Learn more about the program and REGISTER TO ATTEND HERE: https://www.gardenconservancy.org/events/gertrude-jekyll-s-munstead-wood-the-next-100-years-as-a-place-of-inspiration
YOU WILL RECEIVE THE GARDEN CONSERVANCY’S WEBINAR LINK DIRECTLY FROM ZOOM AFTER YOU REGISTER.
The National Trust’s acquisition of Gertrude Jekyll’s beloved former house and garden, Munstead Wood, in 2023 not only ensures the conservation and succession of this significant UK garden, but also enables wider access to inspire future generations of gardens and artists. Jekyll designed over 400 gardens during her career, and Munstead Wood served as a laboratory for her ideas and her collaborations with architect Edwin Lutyens, who designed the house at Munstead Wood, the first of many such projects together. Katherine Mills, General Manager of Munstead Wood, and Pam Smith, Senior Garden Adviser, will share why this garden and Jekyll’s legacy mean so much to the National Trust and how they are making decisions for the garden’s future.
