After enjoying our PRS spring rose garden tour and party this year, PRS Member, Jon Gazarek, headed north to continue his rose spectacular. Join PRS on Sunday November 19 at 2 PM as Jon takes us on his tour to these beautiful rose gardens and nurseries:
● Jasper Crane Rose Garden at Brandywine Park in Wilmington, DE, which has a beautiful Peggy Martin rose on an arch
● Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden in Franklin Township, NJ, a 1-acre AARS display garden with over 3,000 roses
● Helen S Kaman Rose Garden at the Elizabeth Park Conservancy in West Hartford, CT, the third largest rose garden in the U.S.
● Der Rosenmeister Nursery owned by rosarian, Leon Ginenthal, in Ithaca, NY, specializing in hardy, disease-resistant roses
● Cutler Botanic Garden at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County in Binghamton, NY
● Columbus Park of Roses in Columbus, OH, a 13-acre garden with more than 12,000 roses
● Freedom Gardens owned by rosarians, Peter & Susan Schneider, in Ravenna, OH which sells hard-to-find own root roses
● Renziehausen Park Rose Garden of the Garden Club of McKeesport Arboretum – McKeesport, PA
Jon Gazarek is a Master Gardener and Consulting Rosarian candidate with a garden of over 150 roses in the Coastal Plain of Accokeek, MD. He's especially interested in disease-resistant fragrant roses & gardens as sustainably as possibly using integrated pest management (IPM) to ensure a safe habitat for the local ecology. He's also a book-collector with an extensive collection of new, old, & rare books about roses. Jon is a board member of the Arlington Rose Foundation, a member of the PRS Publicity Committee, & a member of the American Rose Society in addition to many other horticultural affiliations.
